Safeguarding Adults Training is based in the Midlands and the training is delivered by Dawn Shearwood. Dawn is an experienced trainer and has been involved in adult safeguarding and training since 2000 and recently as a Development and Training Manager, Safeguarding Adults, for a large local authority. She has an extensive knowledge of designing training sessions, programmes and training delivery in both social care and multi-agency arenas. Dawn has an in-depth knowledge and practical experience of safeguarding policies, procedures and safeguarding enquiries. She is passionate about raising the profile of adults at risk and ensures that the training she delivers is of high quality, effective and value for money. Having been a police officer for 30 years, Dawn uses the skills and knowledge she has gained in her experience and roles and embeds them into the courses she delivers.
Dawn’s qualifications include a Cert Ed, BA in Education and Training, MA Criminal Justice and Social Diversity plus A1 (assessing), V1 (verifying) and A11 (equality and diversity).
The courses Dawn offers are designed and delivered in line with the Bournemouth Competency/ Capability Framework (social care) and The National Intercollegiate Document ‘Safeguarding for Adults: Roles and Competencies’ (health and care settings) and relevant legislative requirements.
The courses will ensure that knowledge, understanding and skills of attendees will be up to date and support best practice.
